B-movie fans, meet Flesh Roxon, a horror-punk trio from Finland who have found a way to fuse their love of punk rock with their love of b-grade horror films. This love of cheap, schlocky horror was the driving theme behind their recently released debut album, Flesh To The Bone.
Their first music video, “Back From Your Grave”, was heavily influenced by the horror films of the silent and early talkie eras. Their latest video, “Lonely Rider,” instead pays tribute to the b-horror flicks from the good-old days of VHS.
I must say that the band’s sound is much more “poppy” and upbeat than I would have expected, given their look and chosen subject matter. While I prefer my horror-fueled music to be more on the heavy side (see: Rob Zombie), the band has already released a couple of very cool videos and they certainly know how to write a catchy hook.
